Grammarian to Visit the Farmers Market on Saturday October 28th - Updated
Special to the News from Karen Fullerton
Ellen Jovin is unable to be there, but the Letters Trellis will still accept grammar questions for her to answer later. For four years, while Letters Trellis has promoted letter writing at the local market, Ellen Jovin began her quest to answer questions of grammar, beginning outside her apartment in Manhattan. Fifty state visits and a book later, Ellen will be a guest next to a well-supplied Farmers Market tent where visitors can pen letters to loved ones and friends.

Both offerings are free and the conversations that emerge around language and letters reveal both the emotional response and humor that is inherent in our communications. While discussion at Letters Trellis often focus on reminiscence and the value of correspondence, the Grammar Table elicits a revelation of pet peeves and long-held memories of grammar lessons old and new.
The event will be held at the final Farmers Market of the 2023 season this Saturday, October 28. Vendors and live music will be in full swing from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Winchester Town Common, providing the perfect community backdrop to questions at the Grammar Table and stimulating ideas for penning a message to someone who will soon be surprised to find a letter in their mailbox.
